In John 15:5, Jesus said, "Apart from Me you can do nothing."
I know some folks want to rely on themselves, their willpower, their mind power, their emotion.
I'm glad to know that there is something more, even if I can't completely comprehend.
A true lady doesn't mind when someone stands so that she can have a seat, or opens a door for her, or offers to take care of her - even if she knows in her heart that she can do it all by herself.
For when it comes to things that are truly unbearable for her, she has already by practice transformed herself into a woman of trust, who does not have to feel that she is in control in order to have peace and be strong. And she can more easily turn her burdens over to Someone more powerful.
I can't do as much for others as I would like, even when I really try. But my Father can. Good thing we are never away from him.
Oh, yes, about that title.
You'll Never Walk Alone
by R. Rogers/O. Hammerstein II
in Carousel
also performed by Gerry and the Pacemakers, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and Liverpool F.C. fans
When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark:
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on - walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone.
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark:
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on - walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone.
You'll never walk alone.
